A trip to Kudremukh. I, Sidharth, Snith and 12 yr Srajan were leading the group of 35 people with the guide who knew the route to top of the hill. The top of the mountain looked so close, but we had to climb around 4 small hills round and round to reach the top. After walking for an hour and so, we left the group a distant behind by a km. We four still decided to move ahead. But soon realized that we are lost. It was around 11 o clock, we thought even if we are lost, lot of time is remaining before the day breaks. That gave us the guts to go ahead and find the correct path. We crossed small streams of water but after that we realized there was no particular single path we can move ahead, there were 2-3 path. We were all confused. But to rescue us, we saw a small house, and thought will ask the people living there.


Sidharth, Snith went ahead to check inside the house, me and Srajan stayed behind. I was recreating some horror scene like in"Ahat" in Sony. But thank god we did not meet any ghost thereJ. We walked ahead beside the house, we could see small path through which we were walking down. After a shot walk, we climbed a hill full of long grasses; I was leading the small group. I was walking along a path which I thought some body has already passed through it. After walking for 15 min we saw a small bridge and two big logs to cross over. We got confidence that this path might lead us to our destination. As soon as we crossed the bridge, it was dense jungle, I could not find any path, and we were just walking ahead. We were very scared of losing the correct path. Each one of started thinking what to do, to go back or stay or move ahead. Suddenly we saw another house, but could not find any path to reach to that house. Other people in the group were quite slow; we could not find any trace of them. Then the fear aroused in all of us, we started screaming the name of the guide. But did not get any answer. Snith is more adventurous then rest of us, so he said he will alone go ahead check if any particular path he can find. He went alone. I and srajan also went behind him to give human marking so that Snith doesn’t get lost. Sidharth was at the end. Smith shouted, he got a path to trace. Eureka !! We were all in joy, we went ahead, and the path was leading to the house. We went into the house, it was empty. We decided to wait there for sometime.


We were wondering, if we get lost, we will not be able to make it to the top. We again started screaming and now we can hear voice coming from far end. There it is, our rest of the group was walking towards the house but in a different route. Then we merged back into the group but still leadingJ. That part of the trip was more exciting, how ever it can be little scary sometime. So be with the group even if you are leading them.
